Privacy Policy

This page outlines how Petfood Supplies deals with data and data protection. The aim is to provide transparency to everyone. The privacy policy applies for our online sites and in our physical shop.

What data do we collect?

Data that is collected may include: name, date of birth, email address, contact number (such as mobile and/or landline), physical address, postcode, and IP address.

Online, if cookies are accepted when entering the website, an IP address is stored which allows for statistics (e.g. website views and engagement). These are stored on the websites’ host server (GoDaddy) and cannot be accessed by Petfood Supplies staff or members of the public.

Contact forms ask for name and contact details which are used to give a response. The forms go through the websites’ servers and then directly delivered to an email managed by Petfood Supplies. Details put on these forms are stored on the website servers but are visible to website admins and are displayed on the received email.

Our loyalty scheme requires a name and email address to be activated. Other information (such as physical address and contact number) can be filled in if consent is given.

What do we do with data?

Data is used for a variety of purposes but is kept in line with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). For example, data might be used to contact a customer when their order turns up or to check a previous transaction to see what product they last had.

When data is no longer needed and/or is requested to be removed, online data can be erased, and physical data is shredded before being disposed. We do not classify any of the data we handle to be “special category” due to the nature of the business. Consent for storing data can be withdrawn at any time.

The law

The most recent law is The Data Protection Act 2018 where it is everyone’s responsibility to use information fairly, lawfully, and transparently.

3rd parties that we work with

GoDaddy, Vend by Lightspeed, Monday.com, iZettle, Squarespace and PayPal. All data stored on these sites/databases are secure and offsite.
